Kilter

This began as an experiment in channel setting, and it's not certainly not the first iteration of the design—teaching one's self a challenging stone-setting technique is not always quick and without pain. The constant was the staggered architectural lines of the setting, which in my head I kept referring to as "off-kilter" when designing and forging it. Yet despite how we use commonly use that phrase, "kilter" doesn't mean "level" or "straight"; it means "in good order." Given the tolerances that channel setting demands, when I finally finished an iteration that held together (and still looked good), it could only be called Kilter.
